Keeping children healthy, safe & happy
The Kid’s Zone provides child care for the convenience of our members and non-members while they are working out. Child care is free to children who are members /$5 per hour for children who are non-members. Our qualified staff provides a safe, clean, and friendly environment to ensure both parents and children have an enjoyable time while they are at the YMCA.
We have toys, games, books, puzzles and play equipment that is age appropriate for all children.
Kid's Zone Hours & Guidelines
| Monday - Thursday 9:00am-12:00pm 4:00pm-8:00pm | Friday - Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm | Sunday Closed Sundays |
Hours subject to change based on usage.
- Children must be no younger than three months and no older than five years.
- Children must have shoes on while in the Kid’s Zone.
- Snacks are not allowed in the Kid’s Zone. Bottles and cups are fine. Please label all bags, bottles, cups, etc. with child’s name.
- Diapers and wipes MUST be provided by parents.
- Staff may refuse service to any child for suspected illness or disciplinary problems.
- Relatives and Babysitters are not permitted to bring other children.
- Children may not be in Kid’s Zone for more than three consecutive hours.
- Parents must check on children with staff every hour.
- Membership ID is required for drop-off and pick-up.
- Cost: Free for members. $5 per hour for non-members.

- Open to members of all ages with membership card.
- Children five and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Children 6-11 years of age must have a parent in the building and used during staffed hours, unless accompanied by an adult.
Before & After-School Care
The Griffith Branch YMCA runs Before and After School Childcare for K-6th at the following Griffith Schools: Beiriger, Ready and Wadsworth.
Our facilitators lead the children in structured gym activity daily and teach fun nutritional facts. The children’s afternoon also includes “free-time.” The YMCA core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility will be introduced during their stay. Children must be picked up by 6:30 pm.
School Break Care
Children that attend these days will need to bring a sack lunch. School care is only available to The Griffith Branch YMCA members. To participate in any of our school care programs, parents need to purchase a punch card at the Welcome Desk in advance. Cards are available in the following amounts: $30, $60, $90, $120.
